PATTERN for CAT and CMAT
Objective type and multiple type questions are there. Negative marking is for each wrong answer. CAT includes 2 sections. First is Quant and second one is verbal. Quant includes data interpretation and math. Verbal part includes English and reasoning. Each section carry 50 questions each in CAT. There is no GK in CAT EXAM. But in CMAT it consists 4 sections like Reasoning, English, Math and GK. All sections contain equal marks. In this case, each section carries 25 questions each. Applicants who clear the written recruitment test are called for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) rounds. Ultimate candidate selection is done on the basis of their performances in all these three rounds. The entrance exams are quite hard, thus the applicants must study hard and prepare to clear the exams.
DURATION FOR CAT AND CMAT
Time limit for CAT exam is 2Hours 50 minutes and for CMAT is 3hours. CMAT exams are held twice in a year in the month of September and February. But CAT exams are held only once in a year in the month of November.
In order to apply for CMAT and CAT entrance exams, the applicants should be minimum graduate in any discipline from any recognized university with at least 50%. But in the cases of ST/SC/OBC and other reserved quotas, the minimum scored requires at least 45% in the graduation.
Age Limit for CAT AND CMAT
The candidate should not be more than 30 years of age.
